Fees
Fee’s for each round are payable on the day at registration.Fee is a set charge of €50 per round.This fee covers greenfees and prize fund contribution
2’s club will be an optional extra from January 2017.Cost is €2 to be paid before each round,Any player who hasn’t paid in prior to tee can not claim prize.
Outings
2) society outing will be last Saturday of each month within availability.full list will be emailed to each member.
Format
3) competition will be by stableford points systems worked from individual handicaps
3.1) Matchplay competition will run in unison with main competition.it will be in knockout format with a back door system in place.it will also be in stablford system.If a player misses their match then their opponent automatically gets a bye tru to next round.
3.2)Player of the year will be determined by the player who has accumulated the most points out of their best six rds.If more than one player has amassed the same total of points then the player with the most top 3 finishes win,If still tied then it will go to most wins and so on.This is to ensure that the most consistant golfer is rewarded.
3.3)The winner of player of the year will automactically become the captain for the following season.
3.4)Captains duties consist of presentation of prizes at each round,Choosing venue for “their” captains day,Seating on committee for their year as captain.
3.5)RYDER CUP we take place mid season with red team vs blue team.It will be in a team fourball with best shot played.Each captain will choose a vice captain to help them select pairings.These pairing will not be announced until prior first tee off.Both vice captains will automatically become the following years captains with the winning vice captain choosing venue for their teams defence.
Prizes
4) Cup will be awarded to each monthly winner (who will take full responsibility for care of cup,any damage/loss will result in fine and replacement) aswell as a trophy which player will keep.
4.1) prizes for 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th will be decided by committee and may vary
4.2) closest to hole will also receive prize.this will be on a par3 picked out on morning of each outing. Balls must be fully on the green to count,if ball is closer to hole but not on green it is deemed as out of play in regards to contest
4.3) 2’s club will be on ALL par 3 holes(€2 a man and who ever gets a birdie on a par 3 wins/split pot or if unwon it will roll over to next outing)
4.4)For those players who do not place or win closest to the hole there will be a prize for the two players with best front 9 and back 9 scores.
4.5)CAPTAINS PRIZE will be supplied by the captain and awarded to the winner of their outing.The standard prizes will transfer down mean 2nd to 5th
4.6) Guest are always welcome once spots are available.Cost will be price of greenfees plus € sur charge if they would like to compete for 2’s club and closest to the hole.
Handicaps (handicaps for all players will be adjusted after rd4)
5) winner of each outing will receive a 2 stroke cut to handicap,second place 1 strokes,third 1 stroke. handicaps will be re-instated at end of season
5.1)all players handicaps will be subject to change.to move inline with gui and congu rules we will be installing a weight systems.(.2 will be added to players handicap for every pt scored outside of their handicap.if player scores 3 pts above their handicap then .6 will be added to handicap)this systems sounds complicated but its an acuurate way of controlling handicaps.
Penalties
6) any no-shows will have to pay the €12 add on to keep prizes at similar standard and will receive a 1 stroke penalty for next round
6.1) treasurer will be allowed to prevent any player from participating who has not paid their fees
6.2) Society polo shirts must be worn on day of event.failure to comply will result in a 1pt penalty for that round.
6.3)All players must register and pay fees 20 mins before first tee off.Failure to comply will result in a 2 point penalty for that round
6.4) Any player who scores 40 or more points in an outing will incur an additional 1pt penalty
Rules
7) All scorecards must be signed by the player and the marker.if unsigned then player will be disqualified
8) no player is permitted to use buggy unless in exceptional circumstances
9) Committees decisions are final in all matters
10) all players who have entered society will be held accountable for €12 regardless of participation in an event.this is to ensure equal prize pools at all outings (low numbers would result in poor prizes for players in following event)
11) In the case of tie the result will be decided by virtue of virtual playoff {player who scores highest points on 18th wins,if no winner then it reverts back to 17th and so}
12)local course rules aswell as rsa rules of edaquate and golf at all times
13)Players are asked to be patient will score cards are being totalled and remain in club house for awards
COMMITTEE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE RULES AT ANY TIME.ANY AMENDMENTS WILL BE SENT TO MEMBERS
